Lopburi, known as the city of monkeys will be the cultural stop-over this first day. There, you will visit the ruins of the palace of King Narai and its unique doors. The site is very beautiful and features a small interesting museum. But Lopburi also features the house of ambassadors of France and the house of Constantin Phaulcon (Schemer acting as translator in that time) …
The first surprise is the short halt at the Khmer Prang invaded by macaques.
Long ago, Ayutthaya was a glorious city, wealthy and powerful, the capital of the Kingdom of Siam. During its golden age (17th century), the city had diplomatic and commercial relations with Japan, France, Portugal, China, etc… You will visit the most significant ruins of the old city, during the end of the first day and the morning of day 2
The 2nd surprise will be the visit of the Royal Summer Residence of Bang Pa In, that you will discover before arriving in Bangkok
